Sustainable forestry

Sustainability is one of WOB Timber's top priorities! The principle of sustainability comes from the Saxon chief mining officer Hans Carl von Carlowitz (1645 - 1714), whom he formulated in his work "Sylvicultura oeconomica". Only as much wood should be cut as can grow back through planned reforestation. In this way the ecological, economic and social functions of the forest are fulfilled and no damage is to be done to other ecosystems. It is important to have a healthy balance between man and nature.
